A video of Ender with a new toy
I was in Cape Town for two weeks recently. Two friends there, Daniel and Mel, helped me pick out a nice toy for Ender; a sort of beeping, clanging electronic thing that turns out to have been made in Turkey.
Here's a video of Ender playing with it taken just after I got back from South Africa. I had 15 hours worth of flying time and the journey back to Antalya took two days.
Ender and I missed each other very much and had a lot to catch up on. First thing I did when I got back was have a shower and played with Ender for an hour, then I crashed out in bed. My wife took this video. Ender's watching Baby TV, drinking his milk, playing with his new toy and he's got his father back again. It doesn't get much better for this little guy.

Some early pictures of Ender
Ender just turned 7 months recently. It's amazing how quickly the time passes by.
Anyway, Ender's Aunty Serpil has been taking pictures of Ender with her mobile telephone and we've put them up for everyone in the family to see.
We've so many pictures taken of Ender, we haven't yet had time to put them on the net, but we're gradually catching up now.

Ender's Uncle Joe and Aunty Clare

Ender's always happy to get family photographs, so if you have a few send them to us and we can make some sort of family album!
Here's a couple of pictures of Ender's Uncle Joe (dressed as Elvis Presley) and Aunty Clare (wearing the hat).

We're not sure what the special occasion was, but Uncle Joe does a lot of work for charity and we're guessing that this was some sort of collection, but we're looking forward to Joe's comments and a bit more information about the motorbike!

Ender's first computer

Ender's 6 months old now; probably old enough to start learning object-orientated programming - well the basics anyway!
We bought him a little computer and set him down to see what he could do.
I couldn't see any evidence of a top down approach to writing code; but he did seem to be enjoying himself in any case.

Ender's teething troubles
When you've got a baby for the first time, you imagine everything will be difficult. You prepare yourself for all possible problems, but as you find out; like all parents you are never ready. Ender's mum is a dietician and works at the Akdeniz Universty hospital. She's scared of all illnesses that can sometimes cause some problems. One time, when Ender stopped feeding she went crazy. She measured his milk levels (Ender does not take Mum's breast milk directly; his Mum has to take it with a vacuum pump). Around 3 days ago he stopped feeding and sleeping properly. He and his Mum had to stay all night together. At this time he does need to be on his Mum's shoulders, like all the babies. She did some research and found out he might have a teething problem. He started to squeeze everything in his mouth 2 months ago and is producing lots of salvia.
There's sign of a tooth coming that we can see, and a baby wouldn't normally have a first tooth until 7 months, but all the signs are that he is teething at 5 months.
If anyone has any tips or advice on how to get through this period, we would be happy to have a comment from you.
